Today while I was eating dinner with the familia I raised $100 for Kiva, an awesome website where you can provide micro loans to entrepreneurs all over the world to help them support their businesses and families and help them avoid poverty. It’s very dear to my heart.

After dinner I came upstairs to discover that two people had signed up under me, and since Kiva gives my signups a free $25 for their loan and gives me a free $25 for getting them to sign up, I was able to raise $100 to loan to entrepreneurs all while eating dinner without working.

That brings my total loan amount to $150 today (made the other $50 while sleeping) so I just wanted to show you the awesome entrepreneurs I gave the loans to

Ms. Haleema is 50-year-old married woman and is a dedicated mother of two children. She has been efficiently doing a business of milk selling and cattle rearing for many years now. She has one buffalo and two calves. She also purchases small calves and sells them near the Eid-ul-Azha (a religious event in Muslim countries like Pakistan). She earns a good profit from her business.

In order to grow her sales, she needs to purchase another buffalo. For this reason she contacted Kashf Foundation and applied for a loan of Rs. 30,000. It will ultimately help in increasing production of milk. She is in her 5th loan cycle with a good repayment history.

Freddie, 29 years old and married, lives in Pana-on, Misamis Occidental. He owns and manages a banana and fruit tree farm, earning PHP 5,000 a month. Now he needs weeding maintenance so he decided to ask for a micro credit loan from GDMPC for PHP 7,000. In the near future, he dreams of having a well-developed farm.
